Admission Process

Application:

A completed application is submitted along with the non-refundable application fee.

Family Interview:

Within two weeks of submitting the application an interview will be scheduled. Both parents (if applicable) or guardians and the potential student will meet with the headmaster, principal, and/or school board member. Within 48 hours of the family interview, written notification will be sent as to the acceptance or non-acceptance of the student.

Registration Deposit:

Receipt of this non-refundable deposit upon acceptance secures placement for the student at MCA. Though non-refundable, this fee is deducted from the first tuition installment.

When a student is on waiting list status, positioning on the waiting list is not secured until receipt of the Registration Deposit. The only instance where the Registration Deposit is refundable is if MCA is unable to accommodate the waiting list student due to a full classroom.

Placement Exam:

Grade appropriate Placement Exams must be taken for grades two through five. A Screening is required for students in K5 and grade one. At the discretion of the administration, an assessment may be required for children applying for grade K4. One or more Summer Sessions may be suggested or required for students whose test scores indicate.

Waiting List:

Students who apply after a class has reached capacity are placed on a waiting list. Initial positioning on this waiting list is on a first-come first-served basis unless a sibling has been accepted in a different grade. In this instance, the sibling who is on the waiting list will be positioned to the #1 slot. For the good of the family unit, MCA endeavors to keep siblings in the same school, thus this policy.
